Description:
This course provides some basic trauma information for resource parents and sets the stage for further discussion on trauma. Participants are introduced to the concept of assessing energy level, comfort, and effectiveness and introduced to regulation tools. The main theme of the session includes general information about trauma and feelings stemming from traumatic experiences, as well as important supportive factors in coping with trauma and building resilience. Participants consider the way in which trauma impacts an individual’s view of relationships, themselves, and the world around them. This training is approved for 2 hours of foster parent training credit.
**This qualifies for Group Credit through HHS.
***Note: You need to register each participant and they each need their own email. If you are registering two people, you need two different email addresses. Children are not allowed at this training so please make other arrangements for them.
