Online Safety in a Digital World
This workshop introduces participants to the dangers that exist online for youth.
Participants will understand the different crimes that are targeting youth online and how to identify them.
Participants will gain an understanding of how people can utilize basic information posted by youth to exploit them.
Participants will understand the grooming process and be able to identify behaviors associated with each step.
Participants will be introduced to apps that are popular with youth and the dangers they pose.
Participants will have an understanding of ways to safeguard youth while they are online and what steps to follow if they identify a dangerous situation.
Participants will gain strategies to utilize when speaking with youth in their care about online safety.
This training is approved for 2 hours of foster parent training credit.
