KINNECT Kinesthetics, Kinship, Connections Kinnect is an intensive 20 session stabilization model developed for shelter, residential, school or other settings. This training is in response to requests for structured interventions for short term shelter populations that has been very effective in creating collaboration and safety in residential and community based settings. Kinnect combines music, challenge initiatives and play built on the Sanctuary SELF (Safety, Emotions, Loss & Future) model. The clients have 5 sessions of Safety, 5 sessions of Emotion, 5 sessions of Loss and 5 sessions of Future in 4 weeks time; or as frequently as can be facilitated. Each session lasts approx. 1 ½ hours and the clients/students are introduced to circle activities, ritual, music and challenge all debriefed on the theme of the week. Staff then delivers a SELF module handout selected for its relevance to the activities and modified for the population.
