Children can disclose abuse and neglect to different people in their life. Being on the receiving
end of an abuse disclosure can be daunting and participants will gain a better understanding of
how to react to a child who discloses abuse. Attendees will gain a better understanding of how
children process abuse, their struggles and how children might disclose the information. Gaining
these additional skills will help maintain a positive relationship with the child while also
gathering information to aid in reporting the alleged abuse. Participants will learn about possible
follow up events after reporting the alleged abuse and how to explain these next steps to
children.
**This qualifies for Group Credit through HHS (like in-person classes)
***Note: If you are registering two people, you will need to register each person individually with separate emails. You need to be interactive in this virtual training like you would an in-person training. If your children need supervision, we suggest having other supervision for children so you can actively participate in this training as you would an in-person training.
