*If you were licensed through the 11-week NTDC class, you have already taken this training. You CANNOT take it again for foster parent training credit.
Description: Participants will learn how chaos, threat, neglect, and other adversity during development can alter the developing brain and that, in turn, can change the ways children think, feel and act. Understand the major stress responses we use to cope with perceived and actual threat. They will also be able recognize the reasons and range of adaptive symptoms from inattention and distractibility to avoidance and shut-down and learn about reasons for rejection and testing; recognize survival skills and coping strategies that result in a complex range of behaviors.
**This qualifies for Group Credit through HHS (like in-person classes)
***Note: If you are registering two people, you will need to register each person individually with separate emails. You need to be interactive in this virtual training like you would an in-person training. If your children need supervision, we suggest having other supervision for children so you can actively participate in this training as you would an in-person training.
