Description: “Why can’t they get clean? Addicts never change.” Our narrative of people who have substance use disorders is deeply affected by stigma, and the stigma of addiction affects people in different ways. As a result, there are many ways in which people understand, perceive, and define stigma and its effects. In this training, participants will investigate stigma and its effect on individuals with substance use disorders, including how stigma creates barriers to healthcare and damages relationships. Then, participants will explore strategies to combat stigma in their lives.

**This qualifies for Group Credit through DHS (like in person classes)
***Note: If you are registering two people, you will need to register each person individually with separate emails. You need to be interactive in this virtual training like you would an in person training. If your children need supervision we suggest having other supervision for children so you can actively participate in this training as you would an in person training.
