Description: This training is designed to provide the general public a greater understanding of trauma and how it can affect substance use. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of where trauma comes from, including adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and its impact on the brain. The course explores trauma responses and other symptoms, and how a substance use disorder may develop as a means of coping. This training explains why it is important to reduce stigma and presents action steps our communities can take to properly accommodate those dealing with trauma and/or ACES. This course is ideal for anyone seeking to enhance their knowledge and understanding of trauma and its impact, particularly those directly involved in the care and support of individuals affected by trauma.
**This qualifies for Group Credit through HHS (like in-person classes)
