This training outlines what sensory dysfunction or disorganization can look like in children, including the role of trauma in sensory processing and the maturation of primitive reflexes. It offers insight into how retained reflexes can impact a child’s ability to function including challenges with emotional regulation, attention, coordination, visual skills, etc. Specific reflexes will be discussed including their developmental significance and issues that may be present if the reflex is not properly integrated. The role of occupational therapy in addressing sensory processing and primitive reflex integration will be explained as well as strategies that can be used to help organize a child’s sensory system.
**this qualifies for Group Credit through DHS (like in person classes)
***Note: If you are registering two people, you will need to register each person individually with separate emails. You need to be interactive in this virtual training like you would an in person training. If your children need supervision we suggest having other supervision for children so you can actively participate in this training as you would an in person training.
