Description: Adults play a crucial role in supporting healthy sexual development during adolescence (ages 10 and up). This training equips participants with the knowledge and skills to recognize, understand, and respond to a range of adolescent sexual behaviors—from expected to problematic or abusive.

In this training, you will:
• Learn to distinguish between expected, problematic, and abusive sexual behaviors in adolescents
• Understand risk and protective factors related to harmful sexual behaviors
• Develop proactive strategies to respond effectively and prevent escalation of harmful behaviors

You will gain the tools needed to keep youth safe and foster healthy development for all adolescents.

**This qualifies for Group Credit through HHS (like in-person classes)

Virtual Participant Expectations
To ensure a positive and productive experience, please review the following expectations:  

  1. Attendance:
    1. Please attend on time and stay for the full duration. Notify us in advance if you’re unable to attend.
    2. Each participant needs to register individually, however those in the same household can be on the training using one device.
    3. Both individuals need to verbally/visually check in and out when attendance is taken. Also, BOTH individuals need to be visible via the camera throughout the training.
  2. Engagement:
    1. Actively participate in discussions and activities. Log on prepared and ready to contribute.
    2. Keep your camera ON. If you are unable to have your camera on, we expect that you will be participating in the chat. We will be monitoring who does/does not have their camera on and who is/is not participating throughout the training.
    3. Please have supervision available for children so you can actively participate in this training as you would an in-person training.
  3. Professional Conduct: Treat trainers and fellow participants with respect. Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
  4. Confidentiality: Respect the confidentiality of personal or sensitive information shared during the training.
  5. Inclusivity:
    1. Contribute to a welcoming, non-discriminatory environment. Respect diverse identities and perspectives.

    1. Ensure you have a stable internet connection and appropriate technology.
    2. MUTE your microphone when not speaking, as we need to minimize background noise as much as possible.
