Intended for both foster and adoptive families, this training includes a variety of information about working with birth families. The group will review basic information about the Alliance Model of Child Welfare Practice and apply these principles to the Child Welfare System in Iowa. Participants will learn about Family Team Decision-Making and the Family Interaction Philosophy. Discussion and activities will include conflict resolution, potential partnership challenges and solutions, as well as self-care and strategies for staying motivated when situations become challenging. This training is approved for 3 hours of foster parent group training.
