Description: This training session consists of singing, dancing, and playing instruments with a caregiver and their children (target age newborn to age five). Shared musical experiences allow bonding through face-to-face interaction, creative play, and allow time for making memories. The playful, non-formal classroom experience, combined with active parent and caregiver participation, provides the child with a rich, developmentally appropriate experience.
Research shows that music interventions have unique qualities which make them suitable for supporting parent–child attachment in early childhood. Music interventions have been shown to improve attachment-related outcomes, such as bonding, emotional co-regulation, interaction quality, and parental sensitivity. Techniques such as singing, instrument playing, and movement or multimodal stimulation with music appear to support parent–child relationship quality.
**This qualifies for Group Credit through HHS.
***Note: You need to register each participant and they each need their own email. If you are registering two people, you need two different email addresses. Children are not allowed at this training so please make other arrangements for them.
