Description: This course will guide participants through how to approach the health care system when taking care of a foster child. Participants will be given strategies to gain understanding that surrounds what they may hear during healthcare encounters and resources to further their own health literacy. Instructions will be given regarding common diagnoses of children in different age groups along with a brief synopsis of what those diagnoses mean. Safety information will be touched on regarding common medications used to treat pain, common illnesses, and allergies. Families will also receive education concerning various types of therapy for children and strategies to implement them at home. Overall, this course is geared towards providing information and resources for participants to navigate their child’s healthcare easier.

**This qualifies for Group Credit through HHS.

***Note: You need to register each participant and they each need their own email. If you are registering two people, you need two different email addresses. Children are not allowed at this training so please make other arrangements for them.
