This workshop offers insight into the difficult dance between poorly regulated children and their often-frustrated foster and adoptive parents. Participants will gain a new understanding of children’s developing brains and the neurological and emotional deficits that can drive their explosive, defiant and aggressive behaviors. I’ll teach how to help children cope with big emotions so that time can better enjoyed together. Participants will learn how to help their child recognize, understand, and manage their emotions so that they can regulate them when the next meltdown occurs. I will teach easy, practical techniques that can be used at home, so that parents can aid children in identifying, expressing, and regulating their emotions in the future. This course is designed for parents with children of all ages and seeks to give you the knowledge to help your children heal.
